Nwaneri was a standout performer for Arsenal, leaving Preston goalkeeper Freddie Woodman flat footed after curling home a left-footed strike into the top corner from 20 yards out. The 17-year-old also clipped the bar in the second half and was a constant threat throughout for Mikel Arteta's side.

The goal was the third time Nwaneri has scored in the Carabao Cup this season after netting twice in the previous round against Bolton. Nwaneri's strike was sandwiched by Gabriel Jesus' opener followed by Kai Havertz's second-half header.
