After months of uncertainty, U.S. international Timothy Weah sealed his long-awaited move from Juventus to French giants Olympique de Marseille. The 25-year-old winger returns to Ligue 1, where he started his career as a member of OM rival Paris Saint-Germain, on a reported loan with an obligation to buy deal – according to the Athletic.

The outlet says the move will have an $1.7 million upfront fee and then has an additional obligation of $15.1 million, along with potential add-ons of $3.5 million. 

"Timothy Weah has a passion that doesn't dazzle, but lights his way with humility and determination. Far from being in the shadows, he has become a discreet light in his own right, determined to make a name for himself. Welcome to Marseille, Timothy!" OM's official website said of the move. 

During his two years at the Old Lady, Weah made 60 league appearances, scoring five goals while playing numerous positions for the Serie A giants.

While Weah never lifted the Scudetto with Juventus, he still had plenty of successes at the club, which was highlighted by his 2024 Coppa Italia win. He posted a thank you letter to the club's faithful on his personal social channels.

While Weah started his career at PSG, he rose to prominence with Lille – helping them to a surprise Ligue 1 win in 2021. Now, with Marsielle, he'll be aiming for similar heights.

The legendary French side has not lifted the league title since 2010 and is tied to a 13-year-old cup drought as a whole. Their last trophy came in 2012 in the Coupe de la Ligue.

With the transfer finally done, Weah will now get ready for the club's opening match of the season as OM travel to play Rennes on Aug. 15.
