Hayes will now take charge of the USWNT, with her first game as head coach of the four-time world champions to come in a friendly against South Korea on June 1. It is the next step in preparation for this summer's Olympics, which the U.S. will be looking to win gold at for a fifth time.
WHAT HAYES SAID
Asked on Saturday if her time with Chelsea is done, or whether there is the chance of another chapter in the future, Hayes said: "If I were to ever be around club football again I don't suspect it will be in coaching. But when my tenure is done with the United States, if Chelsea ever need me, they know what my number is."

Hayes' successor has not yet been announced by Chelsea, but it is widely reported that she will be followed in the role by Lyon boss Sonia Bompastor. The former France international has won the Champions League with the club and could claim another European title next week, with OL facing Barcelona in this year's final.
