Now that Manchester City have secured their status as Premier League champions, they can begin focusing on bringing in new additions during the summer transfer window.
They also, though, need to be braced for interest in their own stars, according to the latest reports in the media.
The Manchester Evening News has claimed that Real Madrid are considering a shock swoop for Kevin De Bruyne, Leroy Sane, Raheem Sterling and John Stones.
The publication adds that City will stand firm and not entertain any offers from Los Blancos for their star players.
De Bruyne, in particular, has been an integral part of Pep Guardiola’s title-winning team having created 19 assists and scored 12 goals in all competitions.
Despite the Belgian’s dominance, the 26-year-old missed out on being voted PFA Player of the Year as the majority of his peers selected Liverpool star Mohamed Salah instead.
Given the success of City this season, it would be surprising if any of their first-team stars sought an exit from the club.
In this instance, if Madrid wanted to swoop all three, it would cost them a pretty penny as the quartet are valued by Transfermarkt at £283.5m combined.
City fans have been tweeting their thoughts on the rumour.
